Pinot Noir from my Summit vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Dry farmed, organic, no tilling, no tractors. All work done by hand with lots of sweat, a bit of tears, and minimal blood in 2020. I only made rose from this vineyard in 2020 because of nearby fires. We were able to get it picked on some days that weren’t too smoky thanks to the help of many friends.
Very gently pressed. Fermented and aged in neutral oak barrels and puncheons(large barrels). Pink wine, but made with premium grapes and the attention and intention that would go into making luxury white wines. A wine of crystalline texture and energy. A touch of noble reduction. Compared to the first release(in clear glass), this wine is more acid driven and spent more time in barrel(some of which weren’t topped)
